I am so upset for the family, friends, colleagues and first class pupils of Ashling Murphy. I can’t get her out of my head today and I’m so angry that this happened to a beautiful young woman. May she rest in peace.

Just awful, I've been so upset about this. All the cards from those little ones made me cry!

ReiltinDubh · 13/01/2022 18:22

Same here, I start crying every time I read about her. And so so angry, that she couldn't go for a run in broad daylight. On a pathway named after poor Fiona Pender. Fuck me what is the world coming to. Her poor family and friends.
RIP beautiful Aisling

Taytocrisps · 13/01/2022 19:11

I was so shocked and sad when I heard this news. Just devastating for her family, friends, colleagues and pupils. She was a first class teacher - imagine having to tell your 7/8 year old son or daughter that their teacher has been murdered? I just can't imagine how you'd find the words.

There are vigils taking place all over Ireland over the next few days including one outside the Dáíl. I will be going along to my local one.

Reiltin I didn't know the pathway was named after Fiona Pender. Words fail me.

R.I.P. Ashling

DramaAlpaca · 13/01/2022 19:13

I've been upset about this all day. Upset and angry.

RIP Ashling.

Joolsin · 13/01/2022 19:14

Such a dreadful case. The poor wee girl, just starting out in her adult life. And those poor women who came on the scene, they'll always be wishing they'd come just a few minutes earlier and might have saved her.

Lifeisnteasy · 13/01/2022 19:16

Truly awful. How dare somebody think they can just take the life and future of another person this way. Devastated for her family, friends & pupils.

Cleebope2 · 13/01/2022 19:17

RIP beautiful Aisling.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 13/01/2022 19:46

Rest in peace, Ashling.

I'm devastated for her family, friends, her school community.

@Taytocrisps I read that in the Indo, it's called "Fiona's Way" after her. Another poor family haunted by what happened their daughter.
Where did you see that about local vigils? I wouldnt be able to get into town but if there was one closer I would like to go.

Apologies also I just noticed that I spelt Ashling's name incorrectly in my first post.

RaininSummer · 13/01/2022 20:01

Angry and so sad to read this. Hate, hate, hate these evil inadequate men who think they have a right to snuff out women's lives just like that.
RIP Ashling.

JSL52 · 13/01/2022 20:03

RIP

Peakypolly · 13/01/2022 20:14

Devastated that this young woman has suffered such an awful end.
The terrible impact on the family of Fiona Pender repeated again.

I found the following,referring to Fiona,when reading the news about Ashling;
"Fiona’s disappearance is among a group of similar cases in which young woman disappeared; no sign of them or their remains ever emerging.
They were grouped together under Operation Trace; a high-profile inquiry established to determine if all, or any, of the cases was linked in any way.
The women are Deirdre Jacob, Annie McCarrick, Jo Jo Dullard, Fiona Sinnott, Fiona Pender, Eva Brennan and Ciara Breen."

RIP to them all.

Abcdefu · 13/01/2022 20:41

So awful. God love her family, friends, pupils and all who knew her. May she RIP.

There seems to be vigils countrywide ( I'm in the North and there's q lot here) unfortunately I won't make it due to it being at 4pm for obvious reasons but I will pause at that time

halfpasteleven · 13/01/2022 21:07

It is just the saddest day.

ZiggZagg · 13/01/2022 21:11

RIP Aisling Sad just utterly devastating for her friends, family and pupils. Hoping they bring the disgusting man to justice and he gets what he deserves!

bellinisurge · 13/01/2022 21:22

So terribly sad.

Daragirl · 13/01/2022 22:35

If you’re in London, there’s a vigil for Ashling on Saturday at 4pm outside the London Irish Centre in Camden. Please bring a candle and/or flowers.

Want2beme · 13/01/2022 22:40

I don't understand how they think they've got the right to take someone's life. It's a terrible, terrible thing. This beautiful young woman's life gone. Her poor family.

ThisIsNotThePostYourLookingFor · 13/01/2022 22:42

It’s devastating💔

wordlehurdle · 13/01/2022 23:17

My thoughts are with her family whose lives will be changed forever.

Rest in eternal peace 💔💔

ineedanewbum · 14/01/2022 00:09

Suspect has been released and is eliminated from the enquiries. He is no longer a suspect. Hopefully the murderer will soon be caught and brought to justice.

Rest in peace Ashling. Such a sad and horrific ending to her short life.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 14/01/2022 00:13

Unfortunately the eyewitnesses were across the canal... But hopefully they still gave something to go on and the bike now seems to be the thing they're pushing. As a pp said, it is impossible to imagine someone decided to end someone's precious life. Ive cried for Ashling this evening, as I'm sure many have. Please let them get justice for her. The killer has now had over 24h to leave the country etc..

LadyEloise1 · 14/01/2022 00:18

My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Aisling.
A beautiful girl just starting out in life.
How do you explain her death to her wee pupils. Sad
May she rest in peace.

Nannyamc · 14/01/2022 00:19
