Can I get my 12y old vaccinated in Ireland (I live in the UK)

DD just turned 12 and I can't book her 1st does online. It says to wait for the NHS to contact us but I have no idea how long that will be and her school has no vaccination days coming up for her year. So am thinking of going to Ireland for it. She is Irish but does not have a PPS number as was born here in the UK. Anyone know if she is eligible to be vaccinated in Ireland?

My 12 yo needed a PPS no to get his vaccine. A GP might give one, ring one and ask!

Have you phoned your GP? Ds is just turned 12 and we couldn’t book online but phoned the GP and they booked us it at a clinic.

Otherwise check online for walk in clinics

Will try the GP, thanks! Did you get the EU Covid pass once they were fully vaccinated?

I think they are doing it in n.ireland?

It says (at the very end) to call the helpline if you don't have a PPS no.

It'll be Pfizer so a minimum of 3 weeks between doses.

Yes, DS got his covid pass by email after the second dose (which was 4 weeks after the first).

Aren’t there any walk in clinics near you that could do it?

crazyorwhat · 09/12/2021 09:13

I think I can get the first dose at a Walk in clinic here in the UK but the second dose will be 3 months later! We may need to travel before then so might try to get the second dose in Ireland.

Genuinely curious - if you get the shots in two different countries which one provides the vaccination certificate? Is there a process which facilitates this?

crazyorwhat · 12/12/2021 22:38

Yes I think there is. I've read that in Ireland if you can show proof of your jab from another country then they will give you the EU covid pass.
