Hello, looking for some advice. Living in UK and want to send gifts to Ireland. Am I right in thinking that amazon deal with all the charges so the recipient doesn't get stung for charges in Ireland? As I understand it under £150 amazon take off the UK VAT and add the Irish?

I'm not sure but I have not had the palaver of going to a post office and paying tax and a fixed charge to An Post when I order from Amazon UK. All my purchases were less than £120.
I have had to pay when buying from orher British retailers. Sad

I ordered wool from Amazon for my Mum. It took 8 weeks to get to Dublin Confused

I've just had to go again to the Post Office to pay approximately €14 - excise duty tax AND delivery charge to An Post for items to be delivered. Otherwise they will be sent back to the sender.
It's £30 worth of cosmetics I bought that I couldn't get locally.
I thought it was an EU website I was ordering from but it was a UK site.
When will I learn 😩

I’ve been buying from Amazon uk, everything is added to the sale. I’ve not had to pay extra on delivery.
