Applying for two passports at once

Hoping I’m not the only person in the world who has had to apply for both children’s passports at once!

The cover page says “each envelope must only contain the documents for one application” but also has a space where it says “if submitting multiple applications please enter each application number in this box”

I need to send applications for both DC along with their birth certificates and my own passport or birth certificate (assuming I can find the long-form one) as proof of citizenship.

Anyone done it recently and know if I can put everything in the same envelope? The alternative seems to be submitting one at a time but with an 8 week turnaround on applications that’s a long wait to get them both done. Am I missing something obvious?

Can you send both in separate envelopes within one outside envelope. Send your birth certificate with one and your passport with the other?

I was just wondering that. Gah, hope I have my long one somewhere! Although I may need to also send my marriage certificate and only have one copy of that. I think I’ll have to ring them tomorrow and check

Not Irish passports, but friends had visas rejected because they submitted 101 bits of paper with application for child one, and the other 2 applications behind. Only the first application was approved. Subsequent ones were rejected.
Is there any way you can ring them in the morning?

Yep I think I’ll have to rather than cock it up and waste more time. I don’t think I do need to submit marriage certificate so two separate envelopes might be the way to do.
