Both me and dh were texted yesterday to make an appointment at our GP surgery, we both have asthma but nothing major anyone else?
Also I'm presuming we won't be offered the AZ jab? Not that I'm bothered I would happily take it

Dh and I both got a text from our GP on Thursday, we were really surprised, he has mild asthma, I don't have anything on the qualifying list. By the time we clicked on the link to book all the slots were all taken, it seemed like a really odd way to arrange it.

The text said it was the Pfizer. AZ can only be given to 60-69 year olds.

honeyrider · 24/04/2021 22:19

I'm in cohort 4A but haven't heard anything from my gp yet.

Handsnotwands · 24/04/2021 22:31

The 45+ are being done in our area. Dh (45) done this very afternoon 🎉

gabsdot · 26/04/2021 16:20

My doctor's surgery rang this morning to ask me to come in for a vaccination. I already had my first one at the hospital a month ago so obviously on 2 lists.

LadyEloise · 27/04/2021 08:31

Are you in NI ?

kissmelittleass · 27/04/2021 09:11

Yes I was surprised as we've been so slow dishing out the vaccine compared to the uk I thought I wouldn't be called for months yet!

I got a phone call from my GP's practice mid-morning offering me a vaccine if I could be there within 30 mins. DH got his yesterday. We're in our 50's.

honeyrider · 27/04/2021 18:05

We got the Pfizer one.

kissmelittleass · 27/04/2021 22:54

@honeyrider great news! Myself and dh are getting the pfizer tomorrow, how are feeling ? I'm a bit worried about the side effects

kissmelittleass · 27/04/2021 22:54

@honeyrider how are you feeling? that should read!

honeyrider · 28/04/2021 20:50

Only seeing this now, I had a slight headache for a few hours yesterday evening, my arm feels like I knocked it off something or got a dig, not sore but a bit stiff. I'm grand today, not a bother on me.

kissmelittleass · 28/04/2021 22:58

@honeyrider that's great! We had the Pfizer vaccine at 3.30pm today and so far both of us are ok but might be a bit early to say yet?
I was really surprised to be given the date for the second dose four weeks today as I have many relatives in the uk who also had Pfizer and their second dose was 8-9 weeks from the first.
Just hoping it'll not a bit soon who knows?

My mum had her second Pfizer dose today, exactly 4 weeks after the first so that sounds right kiss

I think they lengthened the gap in the U.K. so they could administer as many first doses as possible.

honeyrider · 28/04/2021 23:32

4 weeks for the second Pfizer dose here then 2 weeks after that we're fully vaccinated.

honeyrider · 28/04/2021 23:33

Looks like inter county travel will happen from May 10th but will be confirmed tomorrow.

RachelsHoliday21 · 28/04/2021 23:39

GrinGrinGrin That would be great.

Know of people with diabetes getting vaccinated this week, not asthma though.

Pogmaasal · 28/04/2021 23:45

I know of a man getting it in this cohort tomorrow. Just a high bmi that I know of healthwise

honeyrider · 29/04/2021 17:28

I'm hearing of lots of people that I know or know of getting called for vaccinations this week, a lot at short notice.

Copied the following, more very positive news but it's noticeable this week

"200k weekly vax threshold hit

211k done over the last seven days (vs 143k previous seven day period). Phenomenal 48% week on week increase, should hit 220k tomorrow. We’ve done 508k doses in last 22 days.

COVID-19 Vaccines

(Tuesday / 27-04-21)

‣ First dose: 1,041,284 (+26,644)
‣ Fully vaccinated: 411,150 (+7,848)
‣ Total: 1,452,434 (+34,492)

‣ 16+ with first dose: ~26.6%
‣ 16+ fully vaccinated: ~10.5%

PracticallyFloored · 29/04/2021 20:28

Delighted to hear this is happening! Does anyone know how long it's taking for the 60-69 cohort to be called for vaccination after they've registered in the system?

RachelsHoliday21 · 29/04/2021 22:01

Only a couple of days @practicallyfloored

Lucaslucas1612 · 29/04/2021 22:11

I am 40 and just managed to book both jabs today on the nhs website, in the south west.

RachelsHoliday21 · 29/04/2021 22:22

It seemed to take forever to reach the first 500,000 vaccines (it took 63 days).

And now....

We’ve done 508k doses in last 22 days

Pascha · 29/04/2021 22:28

I'm 44, dh is 42. We've both been called this week but we can't get an appointment within 30 miles so we're leaving it a bit and just trying every day til a clinic closer opens up another date. It might be a week or two I'm guessing.

853ax · 29/04/2021 22:31

Ireland republican know two people early 40s vaccinated GP this week. Asthmatic, BMI GPs give Pfizer. AZ for 60s know few done this week.

PracticallyFloored · 29/04/2021 22:36

Great, thanks Rachel's holiday!
