ordering from Gap EU in Ireland -- won't accept Irish postcode.

Hi all, forgive if this is a thick question, but I'm not long back living in Ireland, and have never previously ordered from Gap from here, but my child has grown out of everything and has a birthday coming. I've just tried updating my address on the Gap EU website, and it keeps telling me my (correct) postcode isn't valid -- what do I do?

(Also, for has anyone ordered clothes from a UK site this year -- what happen re customs duty? I ordered some teeshirts from Redbubble recently, and realised I know nothing about how this works. )

Thanks!

Will it let you leave it out? Recognizing Eircode can be a bit hit and miss on a lot of sites and it isn't so long since we didn't use any so it might still be set up for that.

It won't -- I tried!

I know, I'm only getting used to Eircodes myself. They still look very weird to me stuck onto familiar Irish addresses.

I ordered from GAP EU to Ireland this week and it didn't even ask me for a postcode, just automatically filled in 00000. Mind you my parcel hasn't been dispatched yet who knows if It'll actually arrive!

I tried all zeros too! Regardless of what I put in — actual postcode, parents’ postcode, old UK postcode, zeros, leaving it blank, the form gets a red line around the postcode box and a message saying ‘Insert valid postcode’.

Could you try XXXXXXX ?

JaneJeffer · 30/03/2021 01:19

Try IRL and put the Eircode after the town?

Oh this is so frustrating. Trying to spend your money and being told yr postcode is invalid!

Just saw this. Ordered recently, with 00000 as a postcode on their suggestion.
