I was wondering if any Irish Mumsnetters could help please.
When a candle has finished and you are left with a non clear glass container how do you recycle it ?
I have black glass containers- Max Benjamin and pale grey containers from Aldi. My local glass recycling section only has containers for Clear, Green or Brown glass.

Are you anywhere near Dublin @LadyEloise? Ringsend recycling centre (or one of the other larger centres) would probably take it in one of their general glass recycling containers.

Thank you

I would put the pale grey in the clear bank and the black in the brown bank. I figure they're close enough.

There's a sign on my local one that says if the bin colour you need is full, to just put your glass object into any of the other bins.

I thought this was a big no no, as in the whole bin of glass was contaminated then?

I recently watched Greg Wallace in Inside the Factory & they visited a glass bottle company in Dublin (for Bailey's). The bottle was made from recycled bottles, and when they collected them from bottle banks the just dumped all in to the truck together - they kind of separated the colours at the bottle factory but actually the brown Bailey's bottles were made by adding dye.
Make me wonder why there is separate bottle banks?

@Happierwithouthim you'd think so, wouldn't you? But it definitely says that.
