Bubbling over the border

Hi, I'm in NI and my sister is in ROI. She is caring for her terminally ill DH and it looks increasingly likely he is nearing the end. She hasn't bubbled with anyone (but under rules would be entitled to). I live in NI with DH and we haven't bubbled with anyone either and WFH, very careful etc. If / when the worst happens can I travel to her to bubble up and support her (she has nobody else, our family are in GB) even though technically we are in 2 different jurisdictions? Rules for NI and ROI both seem to indicate I could within each state, although I can't find anything about crossing the border to bubble!

Just Cross the border and be with your sister. No Garda will turn you around when yours is a genuine situation

In my experience, the Gardai have been v compassionate about genuine cases.
Have evidence on you when you travel e.g. reference from Palliative care team, death notice (sorry) or some such.

@wannabebetter
I hope you were able to support your sister.

Thank you everyone. Sadly bro in law passed away last week and we did travel down to support her - we weren't stopped at all thankfully
