My DD has been waiting for a new phone from Tesco, it should have been here over a week ago. All the updates on the tracker don't make any sense. It goes from being on its way to Castlereagh to back in England multiple times.
It was due to be delivered today but another text has just come through saying theres an issue in my area Confused

Yes, we got a message saying delivered yesterday, it wasn't and then that it was back in the depot.

DD phoned again today and they said now it's tomorrow but the tracker has it in Birmingham Hmm

I’m afraid it might be a fallout from Brexit. Nobody is really mentioning it but I noticed this on news the other week. A lot of companies are concerned about the customs implications meaning some are unsure of how to comply and some companies are just not sending here at all.
There is a sort of amnesty on parcel customs declarations I believe, until April.
My worry is after April it will get worse and we will find we have less choice of companies who will ship here.

If people in NI are having difficulty with goods from the UK being delivered can you imagine what it will be like in the Republic. 😱

Thats whst I thought, but I wish they would be honest when you phone them. DD could have cancelled her phone Hmm

I had one which was delayed but it arrived yesterday. Really hope they can sort something out for after April.

@LadyEloise I’m in Dublin and haven’t had any problems with UK deliveries since Brexit. It’s probably simpler here as we’ve a clear cut rule. NI are in a very strange position....I feel for people there.

@magicstar1
Do you use AddressPal or Parcel Motel ?
Do you use Amazon - are the delivery charges massive ?

Cocolapew · 06/01/2021 12:27

I got a text saying it's out for delivery, so we'll see.
I tracked it a different way and it had it in France at one point. I've no idea what's going on.

I've just had a printer delivered by DPD half an hour ago, I only bought it on Monday, and it said delivery would be 5-7 business days! So it's been the opposite for me. I'm in belfast.

magicstar1 · 06/01/2021 12:46

@LadyEloise I used to use Parcel Motel, they're not usable at the moment alright, as they're trying to figure out what to do. I use Amazon a lot, and it's been okay since year end. The vat and customs charge are on the amount paid (customs estimated, but a very good estimate), and the delivery was covered by Prime as usual.

I'm sure Parcel Motel and AddressPal will be back up and running soon.

Well it finally came.

I think DPD ( or DHL ) have said they are stopping deliveries for the moment between the two countries because of Brexit and custom difficulties.
They will resume.

mineallmine · 09/01/2021 00:19

I ordered something from the UK before the new year. They emailed today to say it won't be delivered for a while as DPD have halted deliveries for a while.
My question is dues anyone know will I have to pay customs duties on my package since it was ordered and paid for pre-Brexit?
