I hope this doesn't upset anyone, but I'm just finished reading a thousand posts,many of which were in complete and utter denial about the potential damage Brexit will do to NI. Not to mention British people in general. An attitude of disdain towards Ireland and the EU in general. I'm not even 40 and I remember the horrors of the troubles. And yet so many seem to have just forgotten. It's so utterly depressing.

I think you need to lower your expectations @HollyCarrot. Disdain and ignorance about Ireland and NI is too common in the UK, England in particular. Its shit, but I'm used to it now.

If it makes you feel any better, those ignorant of recent Anglo Irish history are often ignorant of their own politics too. I have even come across posters who pretend to be irish/from NI to lend their uninformed bollocks some authority.

As a regular poster on the main Brexit threads, I would say the stupid ignorant fucking dickheads are outnumbered on here by a) people who realise what's at stake or b) people who don't know enough about it but realise it might be shit if we aren't careful.

But there are noisy ignorant fucking dickheads on here and in GB.

I'm in my 50s. I remember plenty and the fact that some Eton cock and his acolytes/supplicants want to mess with the one thing we have to be proud of (the GFA) makes me sad and angry.
