Is anyone buying a PS5? What are your plans to get one?

I was unlucky on the 1st release even though I sat refreshing pages to try get one for ages.

I rang and emailed a few places and one told me to come into store on the 19th but the stores are closed.

Does anyone know if the 19th release is going to be a decent amount of consoles and not like the farce on 1st release.

I've been told by sister that the 19th is only for the pre orders and there'll be no consoles till next year, please tell me this isn't true? Surely can't be, they wouldn't hype up a brand new console and then not make nearly enough to fill demand.

My 2 boys are planning to buy themselves one (teens with part time jobs), they don't seem to think there'll be any difficulty getting one. I thought they wouldn't have a chance as they haven't pre ordered but they say it will be fine, that there's a lot of marketing hype about it, but there will plenty available after the 19th. They tell me they've done their research so fingers crossed they won't be disappointed!

My youngest is asking for one from Santa. I've been a bit panicked about it but my 19 year old gamer DS is saying the same as anomlettes sons.

Jumping on the bandwagon here as have a nine year old who has suddenly set his heart on getting one for Christmas.

Just wondering if anyone could give a steer towards where would be the best place to look post launch-day?

I don't know what is happening. It is looking like the orders going out tomorrow are the pre orders placed months ago. From reading many sites that gamers are on, they are saying no consoles going into stores for click and collect or online sales, the stores won't be getting them till 2021. I really thought there'd be online sales the 19th, I'll still keep checking just in case. It's a serious fuck up from Sony, tbh bringing out a new console and hyping it up for a year and not making and releasing enough is stupid. I know they'll make their money no matter what because people will buy them whatever the release date. But they should have waited and released it properly when they had enough made, all they're doing is pissing people off, they have their true fans who buy their consoles, they're not going to lose them or sales, so no need to create this mass panic right now.

I've just started a thread about this! General consensus is that the stock released tomorrow is to fill the pre orders and after that it'll be near impossible to get one before Christmas. My DS only decided a couple of weeks back that he'd like one so I stupidly just thought I'll go to a shop and buy one! Silly me. I've now been trying to see if anywhere has PS 4 in stock as he would be happy with that but there is none! I'm still optimistic that I'll get something before Christmas but I've also told him it's not looking good.
