You can buy clothes online

In fairness and I'm saying this as an Irish person we were given plenty of notice before lock down to go and buy clothes, we also had rumours for a week before hand, hence the queues at smiths toys. Nearly every store has online shopping, the only ones that don't is penny's which I'm guessing most are missing. If someone in this day and age doesn't have online shopping then it's tough luck. It's for 6 weeks, we're nearly 2 weeks into it, what in earth do people need so desperately that they are complaining.

I’m with the government on this. Why should Margaret Heffernan and the owners of Tesco and Aldi be allowed to sell clothing when small Irish businesses selling clothes are not allowed to open. In this day and age I think all of us could last 6 weeks with no new clothes.

And I also think they should have shut off licenses. DV rates are already high enough but I suppose they feel it is better those angry men are drunk and happy than a dry and hitting their wife about.
