Considering whether I should travel from the UK to Ireland for one day to a funeral. Technically should quarantine for 14 days which obviously isn't an option with the average turnaround time for an Irish funeral.
It is close family and I live in a region of the UK which has an incredibly low rate otherwise would not remotely consider it. I would turn up, attend the service and leave again for the airport.
So, the question is whether in practice this is happening or not. I am well aware of the rules but also of Ireland's more flexible approach particularly where death is concerned.
