Belfast Christmas markets

Anyone know if there will be an Xmas market this year in Belfast?

I doubt it sadly. I think Belfast will still be in lock down in December and the market always brings massive crowds. Sadly, I think it's the only think that will save many city centre shops and cafes. Having been in Belfast this week, its like a ghost town at present.. 😢

Do you live in NI?

I missed the Christmas market last year as I never got a chance to go. I said to DH that I’ll be sure go next year (as in this year) and don’t think I’ll be able to. Hopefully next Christmas

Would have been lovely to go the markets this year.

Always loved going to it with DH and DC on a cold winters night wrapped up and then going for dinner in Victoria Square

I'd be really surprised if it happened.

I've heard Galway and Waterford are going ahead, but sure about Belfast.

I think they might go ahead, with obviously with a lot of restrictions on how many people can be inside at once. After all at George’s market is open!

Do you think they could potentially implement a booking system for it?

It's been confirmed now that it's not going ahead this year

The Belfast market always looked shit. I see local traders are saying it would be better if local restaurants or traders could get the spaces instead.
