I’m not surprised but I’m still gutted the UK are not on the green list.
I live in U.K. but I’m from ROI.
I was really hoping to return to Ireland for a weekend back in August. Our plans were to stay in and Airbnb and meet with family friend in gardens.
I’m gutted.
DH and I have been working from home since March. We go no where. We see no one. We are totally isolated. We’ve no friends or family nearby. I personally think we are low risk people. But that’s just us, not everyone in the UK can do what we are doing.

I’m just so sad! I want to go back and visit. No physical contact, not going into peoples houses. Not go to pubs. Just sit in gardens at a distance.
I’m so fed up.

Sorry to hear this, OP. I can understand the disappointment.

Very hard on those living abroad/from abroad. If you wfh, can you wfh in Ireland while quarantining? Makes it a long holiday I know

We have flights, car hire and Airbnb booked already.
So it was only for a couple of days.
I’m so confused why could I book a flight. It doesn’t make any sense.
Do we just go, provide the information about where we are staying, then just have people meet us there in the garden?
Or just cancel it entirely? Sad

What part of Ireland were you hoping to go to? Could you fly into Belfast or Derry (where there's no quarantine) then meet family north of border? There's no restrictions of people moving between north and south tmk unless you come from the uk or another country where quarantine is necessary.

Just go, give the address of your AirBnB and meet people in that garden. All they will do is check if you are where you said you were.
If your coming home to see family and friends you are going to be more careful than if you were tourists with no vested interest in the health of the people you meet.
I warn you though, not hugging is very hard Flowers
