Bin Charges Dublin

You'd want to have a degree in Maths trying to figure out the cheapest ( for your family's needs ) option re bin collection.
Anyone living in Dublin who has it sussed please please let me know.
When the council stopped doing the collections and the private companies took
over it was way cheaper.
Now they appear to be able to charge what they like.
I hope the Green tds and ministers sort it out.

I don't know what part of Dublin you're in or what your company options are, but we only had 2 choices: Greyhound or Citybin. We We're with greyhound for a while and I can't tell you how absolutely awful they were. With Citybin now for about 4 years and they're great. Sometimes, it's not just about who's cheaper.

How do they differ in your opinion ?

Firstly, I was sick of having to go and hunt for my bins every bin day, as they would leave them anywhere. Also Greyhound's pricing policy was not clear and so we decided to change. They gave us so much hassle trying to change, refusing to refund money owed to us to the point that I said I was going to go and sit in their office until I was refunded. I got it eventually. They also gave my elderly dad loads of trouble when he was changing.
Citybin put my bins back outside my house every time. Also, one week, I forgot to get my bins out on time and phoned them and they sent the truck back for them. They also send a text every week to remind me to put out my bins.

Greyhound text me on Friday that my credit is low. Bins go out Monday- it does my head in. The charges sure aren't transparent. The company was ( not sure if it still is) registered in the Isle of Man.
The cost since privatisation began has sky rocketed but as its just the squeezed middle paying there are no protests. Sad
