Covid guilt trip!

Anyone else's parents giving them a guilt trip for not visiting them? Both parents are in mid 70's and both have health issues... however they are now constantly asking us to visit them in the garden. They live 45km away. Two of my siblings live close by so have been seeing them often - dropping in shopping, chatting from the car in the driveway etc. They also have great neighbours so are not cut off.

However they are really pressuring me to go visit them in the garden with the kids. DH is a stickler for the rules and I tend to agree with him. What's the point if we all relax the rules now??

Anyone else getting the guilt trip from the mammies to visit them? I feel so bad! But at same time a bit annoyed they are making me feel bad for complying with the rules!

My mum wants to come over next week and sit in the garden. No problem whatsoever with that except I have two small children who will not understand why they cant hug nanny and I’m
concerned it’s going to be very confusing for them.

So I’d rather not. I don’t think she’s going to like me refusing her request at all.

Yes same. I'm going to start more frequent face time calls with the kids rather than just me texting her. Hopefully that'll take the edge off for her.
