Villiers school, Midleton or Rockwell?

Hi,
We are trying to decide between Rockwell, villiers school or Midleton for our 13 yr old daughter who is dyslexic and loves sport. Any advice?

I know a bit about Villiers in Limerick but not the other two. Villiers is a mixed school and it's multi denominational these days, it used to be a Protestant school. I know lots of parents who've sent their children there and they all seem to be happy with it. It's musical and sporty. I don't know what it's like for dyslexia support. I think they still do weekly boarding but not sure. Academically it's reasonable. It's a fee paying school but fees are on the low side compared to UK schools. There's a website which has loads of info.

My impression of Rockwell is that it is still very ex-boys only boarding school.
Good support for sporty, dyslexic boy of my acquaintance .

Have you excluded somewhere like Presentation Thurles? Really strong at developing rounded girls

What about the Ursuline, Thurles?

I’m a past pupil of Villiers and my youngest sister left about 4 yrs ago and has some learning difficulties. I still know a lot of pupils and parents in the school and would know some of the current teachers relatively well. If you want to send a PM I’m happy to answer anything you like.

My DH went to Rockwell... he doesn't want to send our DDs there. Make of that what you will!

I have relatives who's daughter is currently in the Presentation in Thurles. She is a border their since first year. Her parents said it homely and are very happy having sent her their. She is sporty and accidemic. I know one of her friends is dyslexic and she has got a lot of support in school. Also the borders in the Presentation can do the transaction year but the Ursuline don't allow their boarders to do this.
