Moving to Ireland

Hi, we are moving to Ireland in September and I needed to find a school for my 13 yr old daughter. I was hoping for a small, nurturing girls independent school but open to whatever is the best school. We are flexible on location but she wants to be a day student. My daughter loves sport and showjumping so a sporty school would be a bonus. She is also dyslexic so a school that would support that too. Any advice on schools or areas would be amazing! Any advise about moving and settling in Ireland would be so helpful. I know it is a lot to ask but any advice would be appreciated thank you

Hi Astrid , have you any idea of where you want to live? You might need to narrow it down before people can advise. Fee paying schools are the exception in this country, mostly located in Co Dublin.

We moved to West Cork from Bristol about 7 years ago.
Are you looking for city life or a more rural Lifestyle?
We visited several counties on various holidays before making our decision on where to live.
Winter in a rural area can be hard if you’re used to hustle and bustle.

Villiers school in Limerick sounds like it might suit your daughter. I know there are lots of good girls schools in Cork, but their skirts are very short Grin

Sorry Villiers is not girls only, I missed that part of your post.
