Anyone watched Blood ( tv series )

Has anyone watched Blood Series 2 with Adrian Dunbar ( great actor ) ?
I taped it and am finding it very hard to watch. Very slow and some scenes are distressing.
I never watched Love/Hate because of the violence.
I have to force myself to watch as I'd like to find .out what happens in the end.
I found The Handmaids Tale a similar "hard watch"

Anyone ?

Sorry, OP - I haven't watched it because it looked a bit grim and depressing. The real world is bad enough these days, so I want something more escapist for my TV viewing!

That said, I really like Handmaid's Tale. Parts of it are grim but maybe it's easier to watch because you know June eventually escapes and Gilead falls (no spoilers - it's the whole premise of the book). There's a light at the end of the tunnel, iyswim.
