My student DD just Whatsapped with us with that news. The Irish are being far more proactive that the UK.

That's mad there @TinklyLittleLaugh - living in Ireland, many think that the government isn't being proactive enough...they took long enough to decide to cancel the St Patrick's day parades country wide. Many local councils made their own decisions before it came from the Government (which is still waiting to be formed since the General Election).

These are decisions being made locally, by the management/councils/boards that are running these places.

The government is telling us daily how many cases and where they were contracted (i.e. the latest case was through contact with a previous case type of thing).
We're also being told to look after our mental health by not focussing in on the news about corona virus...well that's pretty hard to do as it is the lead story on the news and the news about it and conversations are everywhere about it...if it's not about the virus, it's about the price gouging around bottles of hand sanitiser to protect us against the virus.

Bit worried about DD being away in the Republic with us so far away in the UK. I'm hoping that her and her flatmates look out for each other if anyone falls ill. Hopefully they wont all just go off to their homes in Ireland.

We (the collective Irish here) will look after her, she'll be fine. Don't worry.
Send hand sanitiser gel! Grin

Haha, I've none to send Watcha. Think she is going to come home now Ireland is in lockdown. Slightly concerned that she won't be let back in again though if it all goes crazy over here.
