Corned beef

Can you please tell me how to make corned beef? What do I actually buy in the butchers? And how long to boil it etc. Thanks

You buy a brisket i think, but it has been salted/cured in a brine solution. The butcher does that part I think!! Then you just boil it.

Or are you NOT in Ireland and you want to do it all yourself?

I've no idea, but DH's cousin makes the best corned beef I've ever had in my life. I keep meaning to ask her for the recipe.

Yes I’m in UK now and haven’t a clue. I used to love my mum making it for me.
