House of Fraser Dundrum/ Dunnes / John Lewi

Sadly it looks like House of Fraser Dundrum may close because of decisions made in the UK.
There is talk it might be broken up into two smaller units. Dunnes could take one unit.
Or John Lewis could come in and take over the whole store - pre recession they had been thinking of opening a store on O' Connell Street. I think Dundrum would be more suited to their target market.

Dunnes may have wanted all or nothing though.

Who knows. I suspect the juicy stuff happened back in 2006 or whenever it opened. It is odd that Dunnes has no presence there.

ALDI is so on the up. The middle classes love it

I'm disappointed that Brown Thomas and Penneys are supposedly taking over.the HofF store. They already have enough of a presence there.
So Laura Ashley, Moda in Pelle and the lovely cosmetic hall will be gone----
Having an alternative to BT Arnotts will be gone.
Dunnes you really did miss out.

I was in HOF at dundrum ystrdy and it is sales rails already.

It's a shame as our choice of department store and the variety this gives is now limited to Brown Thomas or Debenhams.
Clerys is gone, an independent Arnotts is gone - its now Brown Thomas owned., and House of Fraser gone too.
I'm sorry too for the staff losing their jobs.
