70s/80 dinner set

Hi, Google has failed me Sad .

I'm trying to find a dinner set/crockery used by my grandmother in Ireland in the 80s (possibly 70s).

It had a meadow/ cornflower/tiny flower pattern, I can't remember if it was all over, or a border.

The flowers were small, pinks, blues, yellows, a bit of green.

I think there were definitly cereal/pasta type bowls.

They were not rich, so it would probably have been a mass production thing.

But their children travelled, so it could have been sent home.

I've tried image results for meadow/small flower/pastel flower 70s/80s, crockery etc. to no avail.

Anyone?

Was it the Mark's and Spencer st Michel harvest range.

Hi there.

Have you heard of Chinasearch?

website here. Have a look.

I've used them in the past to replace broken pieces from china sets.

Johnson brothers 'Summer Chintz' sounds like your description.

Unshriven · 25/06/2019 15:30

Ohh, You are good!

Definitely not the 'Harvest Range'.

It might have been the 'Summer chintz'. That looks right-ish. In my head, the flowers were closer together, smaller , and more condensed...but I was only 6, and eating weetabix while looking out at the Ballyhoura Mountains. Grin.

It's ridiculous, but I have no one to ask now.

My late Mum had Summer Chintz but only the cake plates so my memories are of Victoria sponge. Cake

Unshriven · 25/06/2019 15:37

I don't remember the frilly edges either... but I accept I might be imagining this Grin

BHS Ashley
BHS Cherbourg

lots to check here

Unshriven · 25/06/2019 15:46

I think it was the size of the Ashley, but with a bit more colour, and more condensed.

Summer chintz is the closest so far, I wonder if I created the rest in my mind!? It doesn't seem to show up anywhere.

In the 70s Woolworths sold good quality housewares. Have a look at the catalogue page 2/3 way down this page and see if any of these are the one. woolworths

Unshriven · 25/06/2019 15:56

Definitely not Eternal Beau, they were round, and more pastel coloured...

I'm actually beginning to think I imagined an extension to 'Summer Chintz' Grin
