Just wondering how many you invited to christening? We're looking at just family (aunts, uncles, cousins & partners) but that's coming to over 100 people!
Just thinking of church plus finger food in local pub but don't know how to cut down the numbers!

Immediate family only - parents and siblings. Plus the godparents of baby, of course.

Over 100 at a christening seems a bit mad, to be honest.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, it seems crazy! I've been to a lot of my cousin's baby's christenings but they didn't seem that big

Yes immediate family only. You could have them at the service and go for a meal, then have an open invite to whoever wants to join you at the pub?

We did the massive function room event for my eldest so probably about 80 people but I did an immediate family one for my second child. It's very difficult if you have a large close knit family. Both of my parents have large families and I have lots of cousins and everyone invites each other to stuff.

Parents (just PIL as mine are dead), Dh's grandma, SIL and husband, godparents (plus partner if they had one). Christening service followed by (at our house) glass of champagne then fruitcake and cup of tea.

Only invite practicing catholics/true believers. That should reduce the guest list considerably!
