What are your DC doing to help around the house?

Just that really. DD's are nearly 11 and 13.5.

I know it's my own fault but they really don't do anything much. DD2 will do anything I ask her but DD1 has decided it's her holidays and she shouldn't be doing anything.

Well, you can't argue with that, can you?!!....It's a shame she will be so broke over the holidays and can't enjoy/afford the same fun as her hard working Sister. Especially as Mum's Taxi is 'pay as you go' and there is the 'cash for housework' scheme you've got going on this summer!!

My 11/15 yo’s Empty dishwasher, hoover, keep own bedrooms tidy and change beds, dust, sort out clothes that aren’t being ironed and put away,hang washing out, sort clothes for washing, clean bathrooms, 15 yo mows grass, .. basically most things. Not always a spectacular job but that’s how they earn pocket money

My dc (10) now has a laundry bag in his room. He doesn’t get his pocket money unless ALL his laundry is in the bag on Saturday morning when I do the washing. And he lays the table for supper and he has just started to make Saturday lunch - normally a sandwich or a pizza.

8 yr old DS is responsible for tidying and hoovering bedroom and playroom weekly. Likes doing sinks in bathrooms too (plays sharp shooter with cleaning spray).Will need help to do properly but that's ok. He's still learning.

Has anyone managed to teach a 10 year old boy to use a loo brush yet?

Seniorschoolmum not making any progress with the bloody 15yo, and I drag him in!

My daughter is 11 and has complex additional needs so her dexterity isn't great but she fills the toilet roll holder, empties the recycling bin, keeps her room tidy and hoovered and strips her bed. We also got a one cup kettle so she can make herself a cup of tea without burning herself.

My DS aged 8 used to ask to clean the toilet. His elder ds was horrified at the thought of cleaning it so he thought it was a dangerous job.
Always told that the most important thing to remember about cleaning a toilet was to keep your mouth closed.
