They have worked so hard and played so well to get to the final. I'm so proud of this fantastic team and gutted for them. Well done the Irish women's hockey team, you are an inspiration.

They were amazing and should be so proud of themselves. Coming from such a small country and to get to the final is a fantastic achievement...coygig!!!

I was lucky enough to watch them play on Thursday when they won against India (and England lost against the Netherlands!) but they did brilliantly to get so far!! Ireland should be very proud.

They should be really proud. Their play and team spirit was exceptional.

The Dutch are easily the best team in the world, I'm not sure anyone would bet too much against them.

Only seeing this now (a few days behind the curve) and I have to say that this is a fantastic summer for Irish sport.

The Womens Hockey team getting to the World Cup Final (for Ireland that's our first world cup final in any sport ever) and coming away as silver medalists.
Now, today Rhys McClenaghan winning a Gold medal in the European Championships on the pommel horse, a first for Ireland in gymnastics too.

I'm very sure that I've left many other achievements out of that list (it's not exactly exhaustive) but for I'm super proud as a small nation that we're more than capable of holding our own amongst the sporting giants!
