OMG I can hardly believe it but hope it's a strong indication for tomorrow's result.

Yes 68% No 32%

Hopefully the Late Late Show exit poll result at 11.30pm will be the same.

It has made me cry! Fingers crossed the result is as decisive!

If Exit Poll is right... Would that put pressure Norn to change their rules, too?

honeyrider · 25/05/2018 23:22

Late Late Show exit poll Yes 69.4% No 30.6%

The Pro Life side are already hollering that it's fixed. No surprise there.

lljkk not necessarily in the way that NI politicians would feel the need to 'keep up' with Ireland. However, it's shown that a grassroots movement of young people and women can make a change. The Repeal movement has created a focused group of obstreperous people who will not be silenced again. And I think the conversations that have been had up and down the country has changed Ireland, north and south.

I'm feeling buoyed.

Mumontherocks1 · 25/05/2018 23:41

It's completely profound! I'm so relieved. It will be interesting to see the figures tomorrow. It's great to see how much Ireland has changed since 1983. Great news!

The result will inspire NI women & men to seek change.

Fab news - well done all the voters

Lifeaback · 26/05/2018 09:31

Filled me with pride when I read the exit poll last night. Does anyone know what time the results are due to be announced?

SporkInTheToaster · 26/05/2018 09:34

I’ve got everything x for you

#repeal

Results will be announced throughout the day as constituencies make their returns. Overall result expected in the early afternoon.

RTE just announced that the tallies of boxes opened so far are mirroring the exit polls. Two to one for yes.

PositivelyPERF · 26/05/2018 09:42

Would that put pressure Norn to change their rules, too?

Nope. We have the other bible bashers (DUP) controlling women’s bodies, up here. If anything they’ll dig their heels in further, as they would be horrified at the suggestion that they are in any way influenced by down south.

Well done to all the yes voters. I’m so happy for all my sisters in the republic. 🥂🌹

BaconGivesMeALardon · 26/05/2018 09:49

Probably won’t do much for the North in terms of changing the legislation there in the short term. It will make it easier for women in the North as they’ll be able to access terminations in Ireland.

honeyrider · 29/05/2018 00:07

Minister for Children Katherine Zappone has said women from the North seeking an abortion will be welcomed in the south.
