Postcodes in Ireland

I am trying to set up an apple id and a postcode is required but my (correct) postcode is deemed invalid. This is not the first time this has happened. So, do we have valid postcodes or not? When I googled postcodes for my town (in case I was wrong about mine though I know I am not) it said there is no postcode for this area!

Has anyone overcome this for an apple id? Or any suggestions for what I can put in instead (rude words aren't working either!)

Try putting a space after the fourth letter/number. I find that sometimes works

I had problems too.
How many millions of euro did it cost putting it in place ?

Some websites like the postcodes to be entered like D02XD11 and some like them to be entered like D02 XD11 (don't know if that is an actual postcode so apologies if it is).
