Gift for first communion

Hi all, I wondered what other mumsnetters would consider a suitable first communion monetary gift amount for a godchild? In Ireland. Gave his sister fifty euros (not godchild) would you give the same or more? Thanks in advance.

In our family we give €100 to a godchild.

Hi, on my side of the family all the kids get the same regardless of whether they're godchildren or not but on DHs side, the godparent gives a bit more.

Godchild - €50 to €100... varies depending on close you are I suppose. I've bought jewellery for my goddaughter (worth €85) and we gave €50 cash to godson... but will possibly give more cash to godson when we see him as they didn't do a get together on the day.

I think €50 is plenty for a godchild - perhaps something small that is personalised with it would be nice.
