Hi,
I'm looking at the possibility of changing my childminder and wondering what the current rate is for 2 DC (baby/preschooler).
Would need to have the kids picked up/dropped off, or someone to mind them in our house. 8:30-5:30, 8-10 days per month.
Any ideas what I should be expecting to pay?

€4 per hour per child

If it's in your house it's minimum wage plus PRSI 10.75% minimum - if you're in Dublin the going rate seems to be €12-14, more if you want someone with decent experience with babies. It's much cheaper with someone who minds in their own home in my experience, and they're also responsible for their own taxes. How easy it is to find someone to do that depends on where you are though...

Part time is much harder to find top, unless you get a student or someone it happens to suit. Again I'm speaking from a Dublin perspective, but I'd start looking ASAP...

Thanks for the replies! I'm really banking on finding someone who just happens to want what I'm offering! Have advertised already so will see what happens...

My childminder has mine from 8 to 8.30 then 3.15 to 5 term time. Odd occasions she’ll start at 7 and finish at 6

School holidays she has them about 10 hrs a day

I pay £800 pm

Roughly about £800 a month for nursery for one almost 2y old and about £50 a week for breakfast/afterschool club for the eldest.
