My dc is making communion this year... But I don't get on with his dad or that side of the family (toxic, some narcissism, all for show type or people)
My husband won't come as he is v angry over how ex treated me (v badly) which I understand... But people keep asking what I'm doing for his communion!
I was thinking of just having the ceremony, going for dinner just me dh and the kids, then he can go to his dad's for the night and they can do what they want, and to make up to him maybe a night away a couple of weeks later with me or dh (they are v close)
Does this sound ok or should I be doing more on the day??
