DD1 (10) who has lived her whole life in either Scotland or Texas, upon discovering a distinct lack of bread in either the breadbin or the freezer, yelled up the stairs to me this morning "Fred! There's no bread!"

This is the regular response to a lack of bread in the house from all 4 DC and even from English DH. None of them have ever lived in NI, but clearly I have educated them all well.

Parenting pride right there.

My husband from belfast constantly tells me things i say have a perverse meaning in belfast like the word blert. I tell him im ulster scots and whatever he thinks things mean he is simply wrong .
