Sorry, I didn't know whether to put this in Craicnet or Shorthaul. But we're from Donegal, living in England. We're going home for a week at the end of the month but we've decided to do some travelling around Ireland, seeing bits that we've never seen before.
We'll be leaving friends in Carlow on Wednesday afternoon and plan to be in Donegal (up the top) for Saturday evening.
We're thinking of doing maybe travelling to Cork on Wednesday evening, then doing Garnish island, Cliffs of Moher, the Burren (and Father Ted's house) on the Thursday, staying near Galway. Then sneaking round Galway and Mayo coast on the Friday, maybe going to Kylemore Abbey, staying in Mayo on the Friday night, then up to Donegal on the Saturday.
Does this sound doable? Do you have any recommendations for anything near where we'd be? It's just DH and me, no kids. We like outdoors, historical stuff and pretty stuff, but we're not exactly swimmers or surfers!

Céide Fields in Mayo if you are into history.
Stone Age settlement.

In Cork you could go to Cobh and Spike Island - a lovely place to visit.

Sounds very hectic to me tbh...

I think it sounds like a lot of driving. Look at the wild Atlantic way routes, they are getting great reviews.

Yeah, I think we might have to cut out the Cork part of it which is a shame as it's one of the bits I was really looking forward to.
I think the WAW bit of Galway and Mayo (the bay coast bit?) ties in closely to where we're planning on going and gives us a bit of a guide to shoot off from.
thanks all.

Enniscrone is gorgeous. If you fancy spending - Ice House Hotel in Ballina
