Anyone got any thoughts?

Nothing particularly dramatic or exciting (and a personal disappointment for me as I'm a civil servant and I'm not particularly keen on who got the job for my department).

Surprised he put Public Expenditure and Finance back together. And Rural Affairs will have to do new headed notepaper . Again. Grin

Regina Doherty REALLY annoys me.
Such a confident pita.
Is there a back story re a business she was involved in?
No surprise re Mary Mitchell O' Connor- the knives were out for her saying she wasn't up to the task.
I think it was Ivan Yates that said if the Justice Minister wasn't moved it meant Leo was backing the Garda Commissioner. She was moved.......
I'm glad Coveney got Foreign Affairs.
I don't know how good or bad Charlie Flanagan was.
Paschal is another one who grates on me.
What is his background for Finance?
I thought when I suggested an Irishnet ( somebody named it Craicnet - great name) like Scotsnet on Mumsnet that it would have more current affairs interest. Sad

I can't stand paschal Donohue so I hate the thought of him in finance. I was surprised Fitzgerald held on to the tanaiste's office. It seemed too important to leave with the old guard. I like Coveney, he's a work horse so foreign affairs will suit him, especially with his time in Europe to help the brexit brief. Regina Doherty takes no prisoners so I'm looking forward to seeing how she does. Mitchell O'Connor is the worst excuse for a politician I've ever come across. She showed up at something in the constituency recently and had a face like a smacked arse when only her PA spoke to her.

Actually strike that, Shane Ross is probably worse. Loathsome chancer.

Overall it's disappointingly same 'ole, same 'ole.

I think Charlie Flanagan was ok at Foreign Affairs (it's a very different job to the others - people who have annoyed me in other jobs have done very well IMO in Foreign Affairs). I can see Coveney being quite good at it.

It'll be interesting to see what Mary M makes of her super junior role.

I will admit to being slightly entertained that they all ended up in Coppers that night! Grin

Mary MO' C gets €16,000 extra for being demoted. Jesus wept.
It's a disgrace.

vvviola · 17/06/2017 09:10

But they need new legislation to do it, because they have the full amount of Super Juniors already.

If she had half a brain, she'd get some good PR for herself by turning down the extra allowance or the other Super Juniors would band together and say they didn't the allowance at all

Reading Miriam Lord in the Irish Times today is making me even more angry.
And politicians are surprised that they are disliked so intently and the electorate are so cynical.
They promise one thing and do the exact opposite.
😱😱😱😱
