I am moving back to UK, I have British passport but have lived in Ireland since my teens, partner (Irish) and I separated and want to be closer to family. Do people think the common travel area will be maintained? What will happen for Irish people living in Britain? And British living in Ireland? Really nervous about it.

You can be sure that you will be fine. Irish citizens are protected in UK law and no one has proposed changing that. I suppose there might be some risk for British people living in Ireland, but from what I have read, the Irish government seems to think in a similar way, so no restrictions for British citizens in Ireland.
