Should Enda Kenny visit the White House and meet with Donald Trump for St Patrick's Day or shouldn't he?

There are online petitions asking that the Taoiseach not visit the White House and do all the silly St Patrick's day stuff and hand over a bowl of shamrock to the President.

There are people who are coming out saying that he should go and while he's there give Donald Trump a piece of his mind on how he is conducting himself on a global stage.

What is your opinion?

There's another thread running about this. On it i'm the lone voice saying that he should continue the tradition.

Like Trump or loathe him... he was democratically elected by American people.

We achieve little by not going - it would be an opportunity missed. By going Enda can talk directly to that awful man - he can highlight the plight of the undocumented Irish, discuss trade links, etc.

But the visit could be modified e.g. don't invite Trump here, take the opportunities to get out the message about the importance of fairness and respect for all. Yes, maybe Trump won't listen but there will be plenty of media there who will.

I still don't understand how if Hilary Clinton won the most individual votes she didn't get elected.
The electoral college system is beyond me.
