Have you seen the controversial Irish Cancer Society ads?
Personally the ad grabbed my attention.
Isn't that what advertising is supposed to do ?
It certainly stopped me in my tracks and I guessed there would be a follow up ad either inside the newspaper or the next day, which there was.

Horrible ads though. Irish telly is full of depressing ads about cancer and car crashes, etc. I'm sure there are other ways to raise awareness.

And what about that horrible ad with the woman watching a film with her granddaughter and making weird heavy breathing sounds?! Vodafone I think. Makes me queasy Sad

Jane
I really feel they were hard hitting and achieved the publicity needed.

They may be hard hitting but they've put a lot of people off donating to them, I find them very insensitive and will not give as much as a cent to them in future though I had already decided against donating to them before this, this has further vindicated my decision on not donating to them.

Gosh, I had a completely different reaction.
It just goes to show how subjective things are.
It stopped me in my tracks, made me think hard - I need to change certain lifestyle choices.
