New to Ireland. What does one do with a child who needs emergency treatment? Half hospitals don't see under 14s other half close their emergency rooms at 6pm.

The one we ended up in has a queue out the door Confused

Probably too late for you now, but where are you located? There are 3 children's hospitals in Dublin, crumlin, Tallaght and Temple street. Another option if you have health insurance is the VHI swiftcare clinics. Think they open until10pm. Most gps will have a doctor on call service for weekends and evenings. Hope you got sorted.

VHI Swiftcare open to everyone I think.....you pay, whether in VHI or not .

Yes, you can use VHI swiftcare regardless of membership. However, some plans include visits. Our plans include 2 visits per year per member.
Be aware though there are a number of situations where the dont treat. Head injury, severe breathing and heart problems I think.
