Made it to the beach yesterday but the forecast is atrocious for next few days. 2 adults, 2 kids under 5, have car! All ideas considered!

I picked up a flyer for the Ewe Experience when we arrived so will definitely take a look at that if we have another rainy day. Website is intriguing!

Only last week on Craicnet they were cribbing about the heat. Grin

the cinema in Bantry is a must for rainy days. skibbereen usually has a great arts programme with stuff going on for kids. mine love the pirate castle in Baltimore, and you can go for a sea safari on a rib . stand up paddle boarding on loch Ine? the vintage car museum near kenmare ?

We actually haven't needed to do anything other than sit on the beach in glorious sunshine since I posted! I'm obviously a good luck charm! I think my freckles are almost joining up to form a tan...

Will make a note of these for next year though as we'd never be lucky to get good weather twice in a row

Our last full day today but it's roasting and we're heading to the beach now - pint and toasted special in Crookhaven was required first!

I was also in West Cork last week! Apart from the deluge on Monday the weather was pretty good where we were too & we didn't need to do any of the things we had planned for rainy days!

Decorhate · 11/08/2016 06:33

Special wave to Carriemac, another thing in common!

Carriemac · 19/08/2016 22:43

Are you from West Cork originally Carrie? I'm from North Cork but just love West Cork. Maybe it's in the genes - one of my grandparents was from near where we go on holidays!

Carriemac · 22/08/2016 16:01

I'm from the midlands but have a holiday home in WC

Thanks for the recommendation for The Ewe. We were there last week and we loved it. I have been to glengariff many times but somehow had managed to miss it.

Decorhate · 24/08/2016 06:16
