Cots and beds

This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Ds2 is 15 months and tall. If he gets really cross i think he could climb out of his cot bed. Does anyone know of a bed with higher sides suitable for a child of this age?

I think at this point i'd ditch the cot and put him in a bed.

I have considered doing this but he isn't a good sleeper and is very stubborn so i cant see him staying in a bed. I dont mind buying something more suitable if it means i get to sleep!

hmm, I hate to say this, but my ds1 was the same until we put him in a nice comfy bed as opposed to a cot with a hard mattress iykwim? Once in the bed he slept through the night... I agree you may be looking at a week of putting him back to bed but its probably worth it. On the other hand now that my ds can get out of bed he has occasionally climbed in with me and not woken me. Whereas in a cot he would have shouted and shouted. Swings and roundabouts really, sooner or later he'll need a bed I'd be tempted to bite the bullet now and get it over with. good luck

Thanks. I was thinking of putting a single mattress on the floor so when he wriggles off it wont hurt. He's not walking yet but can climb ds1's bunk bed ladder! Think we've got some tough nights ahead.
