How much should I spend on a mattress & bunk beds?

Sorry for the dreary post. Am about to buy bunk beds and 2 mattresses. I know I should buy "the best that I can afford" but sadly that's about £100 per mattress. For that I can just about get a pocket sprung one, but having looked on John Lewis (too expensive), M&S (ditto), Argos (dodgy?) and ebay (confusing) I'm well and truly cross-eyed with it all. Is it worth getting a brand name like Silentnight, Sealy etc? If anyone has bought a mattress they're pleased with, I'd be grateful if you'd share. I can stretch to a little more if it's worth it, but what I can't do is test them all out myself - this has to be an unseen purchase done online. Thanks v much for any help

I am about to buy the metal bunk beds from ikea they have a bigger distance between the bottom bunk and the top which means a adult can sit and read a story but you need to check there is also enough room to sit on the top bunk so that a teenager can sit up there. As to how much to spend on the mattress may also depend how old the children are and if they are dry. You also need to check the height of the mattress there will be a recommended height. Hope this helps
