Cots and beds

This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Does anyone have any advice about single beds for a two yr old?

I am planning on getting a big girl's bed for dd on her second birthday - don't have a fortune to spend but would really like to get her something she will love. My own tastes are quite plain and simple but don't mind letting one saccharine thing into the house as I know she would be blown away!

Does anyone have any advice on where to shop online for kids beds?

All the usual sites such as Tesco, argos, ikea will have kid's beds. I didn't get a themed toddler bed for mine, as I decided I wanted a full size single one, for when I end up sleeping in there with him! But I am going to get him a truck themed headboard as a compromise.
Haven't bought from them, but bedzrus.co.uk have some cute girly ones.

Kidzdens are good

Personally I'd go for a plain bed and tart it up with lots of nice touches like headboard, cushions, bedding, canopy even etc.
