midsleeper recommendations please

We're going to get a mid sleeper for dd (4.5) for Christmas, but we're moving her into an attic room so it can't be too high. She loves the ones that can have tents underneath, and we thought her friends could sleep on a ready bed underneath when they stay over. I've seen Thuka ones which look good, I like the way that you can adapt them to make high sleepers when dd is older (and we've moved house) or add desks etc to them, but they are alot more expensive than the ones in Argos! Thuka look nore solid, anyone got one, or something similar?

Bumping for all of us! Have looked at Stompa and Flexa too, but Thuka seems similar and I can find them cheaper - anyone with any recommendations?

Thuka and Stompa types sell cheaply on ebay.
We got a midsleeper from Mothercare.here
It is solid, is on it's second child and we were after white so suited us.
You can get tent things for it too.

DS has a Thuka one -very solid. Its not one that you can turn into a high sleeper though -I'm not sure what you mean by that.

I made some plain curtains to go underneath it which hides all the toys stashed there. It also doubles as a den/tent to play in.

If your DD has quite a small room I would recommend going for one where the ladder is completely vertical, flush against the side of the bed , as the ones where the ladder sticks out a bit take up more floor space and can be a PITA

we have a thuka one and love it!

they make the midsleepers for argos, but the guy in the shop we bought from (rainbowwood.co.uk) showed us the difference and the ones they sell under their own name are much thicker wood, sturdier etc and of course you have the ability to adapt them, which you don't get with the ones they sell via argos and places like that

aaaanyway, we went for it because we liked the flexibility
ds1 currently has a shorty midsleeper. when ds2 is big enough we will buy another shorty and turn them into bunk beds.
once they are older and need more space/have their own rooms we will buy the kit to turn them into full-size singles.

the beds ought to last them til they leave home i hope!

we also liked the sloping ladder on them, as ds1 was under 3 when he went into his and it made it a bit easier for him to climb in and out, esp for toilet trips during the night!

We got our older daughter's high bed from a company on ebay who also do mid-sleepers
The quality is ok but the courier they used was a bit crap.
