Cots and beds

This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Any recommendations for cots/beds for a compact space?

Little one will outgrow their next to me crib in a couple of months so I'm starting to look ahead at cots for the next stage. We don't have a great deal of space so looking for something that doesn't take up lots of room and doesn't break the bank.

Can anyone recommend a cot or bed they used post 6 months ish that they managed to fit into a smallish space?

Thank you!

Ikea do smaller cot beds that are 60x120 as opposed to the standard 70x140. There’s 2- Gulliver or Sniglar depending on whether you prefer the look of wood or painted. Mine both had Ikea cots and they were great value for money, good quality and most importantly babies slept well so would definitely recommend.

I just had a look at them and they look ideal, not much bigger that the current crib either! Did you have any issues with the base at all? They had quite a few negative reviews around safety and the base being a bit flimsy

We had one of the bigger ones but no issues whatsoever. Very sturdy. It’s still in my mums house as an occasional use bed for my 4YO.
