Bunk beds for 1 and 4 year old?

Has anyone any experience of a 1 year old and 4 year old in bunk beds?
these are the ones I was thinking of getting, as the rail at the top looks high for my 4 year old.
My one year old has never slept in a cot (her choice!!) so has been in a double bed with me since being born, and I was going to transition by sleeping on the bottom
bunk with her.
I will still put her for naps in our bed (with a bed guard on) incase she woke and started to climb.
any other suggestions would be gratefully received!!

we have this, reversed. Great for a floor bed for our youngest but I do think 4 and 1 may be too young for this idea.

1 seems far too young for this.

Yup we didn't have a choice in the matter as there wasn't room for a bed and a cot in the kids bedroom (plus she was climbing out of the cot by 1 anyway!). So went for a midi bed with a floor mattress and a bed guard. The eldest was only 3. Was against every recommendation out there, but he's a super sturdy kid who's forever climbing anyway so felt okay for us.

Can't find the exact one now, was from marketplace, but looked a bit like this

Nope. Too young.
I think the guidelines are not until they are 4, and to be 6 for the top bunk.

@Cremefraicheeee do you have the bottom mattress directly on the floor? Is the head room ok? Considering this for our boys who are 2 & 4. DH isn’t keen on bunk beds as he hated his as a child but I think it’ll give them more space to play.
