Cotbed - mini or regular?

Hi there

I am looking to buy a cotbed for DD who has outgrown her Moses basket in our room.

I have seen these are in two sizes:
60W x 120L (mini)
70W x 140L (regular)

The website says the mini size can be used up to the age of 4 (and regular up to age 5) however I am wondering if DD will fit in it for that long, particularly if she is tall?

Does anyone have any experience with these two sizes? What ages did your child grow out of their cotbed and transition to a regular bed?

I appreciate the sizes are quite similar, however DDs room is tiny so trying to save as much space as we can.

Thoughts?

The mini is a standard sized cot. And the regular is a standard sized cot bed. We had the larger size (secondhand) but tbh we got rid of it and transitioned to a single bed when my eldest was 21 months and my youngest was 18 months. If I was doing it again I’d buy a regular cot and skip the cot bed (and toddler bed).

We have the larger size, DD is about to turn three and still uses it with a lot of room left.

My tall DD slept on the 120cm size until her 4th birthday by which point it was definitely a bit small.

DS (medium size) slept in a 140cm long bed til 5.5 and could have stayed another few months. However I don’t think he would have liked it if his bed looked like a cot bed at that age.

you could go for the small one and then something like the ikea extending bed to save space. Or do what we did and build in a bunk bed to save space.
