So I have a next to me crib but it didn’t come with the straps. Am I still able to have this next to my bed, with the side down if I’m not using straps to attach to the bed? What is the actual reason for the straps when the side is down? The crib feels sturdy when right next to my bed and it doesn’t move or shake so I feel like this will be fine with the sides down and no straps attached? This is for a newborn baby by the way.
