Where to buy solid wood cot

I've looked at the usual shops like M&P, John Lewis, Silver Cross, Next etc and can't find any cots made out of solid wood, ideally I want it to look like wood and not be painted. Does anyone know who stocks a solid wood cot/cotbed please?

Yes, Ikea do one made out of solid beech, we have it and it’s been great.

It’s cot rather than cot bed size so mattress is 120 by 60, we got a little green sheep mattress for it which is reversible as a baby gets older

SNIGLAR beech, Cot, 60x120 cm - IKEA

SNIGLAR beech, Cot, 60x120 cm. Your baby sleeps safely and comfortably in this cot. Made from solid beech – a hardwearing, durable and renewable natural material that is both good for your wallet and the planet.

That's really good to know, I thought Ikea only did white ones!

Brands that specialise in oak furniture? I like The Cotswolds Company as they sometimes do designs that look “modern” but with little features from classic styles.

Thank you, I'd tried some oak furniture companies but didn't find any cots. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Was going to say ikea but someone got here before me! I was gifted the ikea one recently with matching changing table and altho I don’t personally like wood cots it is a quite nice and sturdy too. Argos also do one I believe unless they’ve discontinued it in favour of white but it was available and also available in their nursery furniture bundle if you’re wanting wardrobe and changing table too.

Thanks, it's good to get such an honest review. I'm looking for something wooden and traditional, definitely doesn't appear to be a popular style atm.

Sometimes oak furniture is veneered meaning that although it is all oak rather than manufactured wood, there will be glues involved that can offgas if that was your concern (not saying it should be!).

The ikea one is completely unfinished no varnish or anything, I have left it that way.

We got one of these and now have the extension to take it up to 10 years old. Really like it

This is all great to know, I hadn't considered any issues around glue. Thank you also for that link
