IKEA single duvet for small double bed

Hi there,

has anyone used an ikea single duvet (15cm wider than standard single duvet) on a small double bed? If so, does it look/feel wide enough? I could get a double duvet but think it’ll overwhelm my small 11 year old who overheats very easily.

Both my kids have normal double beds and use normal singles on them (from 8yo). They find them lighter. It does look a bit funny when made, but by the time they have their soft toy menageries and cushions etc you can't exactly see the gap anyway.

We have a small double in our spare room. Looking at it, I imagine a single duvet will look like an old fashioned eiderdown which were the size of the bed and didn't have "overspill". Should be fine I'd have thought.
